Purpose & Scope of Position
To manage the design and engineering of water systems in thermal power projects, ensuring delivery of high-quality, cost-effective, and compliant solutions as per project and client requirements.
Experience
9-12 years of experience in a multi-disciplinary environment on major projects of relevant experience in water systems design for thermal power projects.
Qualification
- BE/B. Tech in Chemical / Environmental / Mechanical Engineering. M. Tech / ME in Water Resources or Process Engineering is an added advantage
- Registration as a professional engineer with the governing authority (preferable)
Key Responsibilities
- Design Leadership:
- Lead the design and detailed engineering of water systems in thermal power plants (DM water, raw water, cooling water, wastewater treatment, etc.).
- Oversee preparation of PFDs, P&IDs, equipment sizing, technical specifications, and process datasheets.
- Ensure compliance with national and international design standards (e.g., BIS, ASME, ISO, AWWA).
- Project Management:
- Plan and manage design deliverables for multiple projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams (civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation) for integrated solutions.
- Provide technical direction and resolve engineering issues during project execution and commissioning.
- Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Interface with clients for design approvals, technical discussions, and design review meetings.
- Support Business Development and Proposals team with technical inputs, design concept notes, and estimation.
- Team Development:
- Mentor and guide a team of engineers and designers in the water process domain.
- Conduct technical reviews and promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
