Purpose & Scope of Position

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for collating procurement progress in the form of trackers and reports. She/He is responsible to provide updates to the Procurement Management/Project Management team as required on activities undertaken as well as future workload.

Experience

• At least 9 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the EPCM industry. • Proven experience in managing complex procurement activities for large-scale engineering and construction projects.

Qualification

• Postgraduate or graduate in an engineering discipline • Related training in Contracts/Legal as well as general project and management related training

Key Responsibilities

1. Coordination of all activities related to the issuance of Service contracts at BU level, assisting in establishing supplier/ proposal evaluation criteria, providing direction or aiding in the management of competitive bidding process, leading or participating in negotiations with suppliers, recommending contract awards, and providing guidance pertaining to the management of new supplier transitions. 2. Works with proposal teams in the planning and execution of new business price proposals, cost narratives, and pricing strategies 3. Implements all procurement processes and procedures including forms and templates to be used on the project 4. Ensures compliance to and maintenance of the procurement filing system (electronic) 5. Manages deployment of procurement strategies in order to provide the best outcomes in terms of scope, cost and time 6. Foresees potential problems, slippage or delays and pro-actively implements corrective measures to resolve the issues or mitigates the impact thereof 7. Plans, controls and monitors procurement activities in accordance with the approved project schedule 8. Ensures efficient and correct usage of Procurement Management Systems and Document Management Systems 9. Maintains accurate procurement records, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier performance data 10. Collaborates with engineering, construction, and project management teams to define procurement needs and priorities. 11. Performs site visits to oversee the procurement/commercial activities or resolve issues arising on the project, where required 12. Monitors procurement expenditures and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
